DON MARCO MERINO, Founder/Owner

Manila, Philippines /  Chicago, Illinois / San Francisco, California

DON MARCO MERINO is the founder and owner of DON MARCO Spas and Salons, the most talked about and celebrated spa and salon to date.  Don Marco Merino was born in Cosmopolitan Manila, Philippines in 1969, which in its time was the "Fashion Capital of Asia". Surprisingly enough, Don Marco appears to be in his mid-20's. Don was born one of ten kids in the Urban Jungle of Manila and says, "Having been born in such a large family, one learns to be assertive and creative".

Don Marco envisioned the modern, sleek design and relaxing atmosphere that truly brings Don Marco Spas and Salons to life. He moved to America in 1988 and lived in major cities such as San Francisco, Tokyo and Chicago, where he cultivated his advanced skill for styling hair in the "High Fashion Industry". Don Marco Merino has an impressive list of big named stars that he has styled including  Aureana Tseu (Miss Hawaii), Ford Models for L'azarro and Vera Wang, and he was also the official stylist for Miss Teen USA and Mrs. USA in Illinois.

Locally, Don Marco has been featured in several fashion shows.  Don Marco managed several salons on the mainland then moved to Hawaii in 2006 and worked for Major Salons in Oahu, but he didn’t settle for less when it came to "Great Customer Service". For that reason, he opened Don Marco Spas and Salons in Honolulu. It offers a “High End Service, at an affordable price, and is conveniently located in the heart of downtown.”

"I'm so excited to be in the field of esthetics to help people look and feel their best.  I am committed to treating each client as a unique individual and catering to their specific needs.  Making the client feel completely relaxed while improving the overall condition of their skin with a customized facial treatment.  Then there is the all too popular art of body waxing.  My specialty, brazilian waxing or manzilian waxing (yes, for the guys).  What may that be, you ask?  It is a bikini wax where ALL the hair is removed.  People from all aspects of life are getting them done.  Men and women, straight and gay, married and single.  You could say I do more than most to tame the wild hair.  Want to know more about skincare or waxing, stop by and visit or give us a call.  See you soon!"
